Venita Maryellen Kantz

Venita Maryellen Kantz, 77, of Richlands, NC and formerly of Lafayette, IN and Hudson, OH, died at the residence of her daughter, Sheryl Kelly in Hudson, OH, Friday evening July 20, 2012. Mrs. Kantz was born in Gary, IN. May 29, 1935, the daughter of the late Louis Guy and Louise Balmes Woodley, Sr. and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Lee Walter Kantz in Lafayette, IN. September 17, 1955, and he preceded her in death March 31, 1999. While residing in Lafayette, Mrs. Kantz was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. A loving wife and mother, Maryellen is survivied by two daughters, Sheryl Kantz Kelly (husband Dave) of Hudson, OH.; Kelly Kantz Gift (husband Larry) of Richlands, NC., a son Jeffrey Patrick Kantz (wife Nancy) of Trenton, NC.; two brothers, Edward Woodley (wife Evelyn) of Phoenix, AZ.; Richard Woodley of Terre Haute, IN.; and a sister, Patricia McBride (husband Tom) Louisville, KY. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Will, Joe and Michael Kelly; David Lee Barringer; Patrick and Christopher Kantz. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Thursday July 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Matthew J. Arbuckle officiating. Interment will follow in Grand View Cemetery, West Lafayette. If friends desire, memorial may be made to Grace On Wings (Air Ambulance), PO Box 455, Plainfield, IN. 46168.
